This address reaches the people who write the notes. Use it for a factual correction, a source we should have used, a subject that is missing, or a question about how a page was put together.

What we can answer

We can point you to the standard that governs a callout, explain what a published figure depends on, or correct something we got wrong. Corrections are the most useful mail we receive: send the value, the page and the source, and the text is changed.

What we cannot answer

We cannot specify a coating for your part. Choosing a phosphorus grade, a thickness and a heat treatment depends on the substrate, the loads, the service environment and the acceptance criteria on your drawing, and getting that wrong has real consequences. That decision belongs to the engineer responsible for the part and to the finishing shop that will run it.

We also cannot recommend a supplier, quote a price, arrange plating work or act as an intermediary. We do none of those things and have no commercial relationship with anyone in the finishing industry.

Corrections

A correction needs three things to be actionable: the page, the exact sentence or figure you are disputing, and the source you are relying on. With those, a fix takes minutes. Without them it usually takes an exchange of mail to work out what was meant.
